　　Night 夜

　　The sun descending 1 in the West, 太阳沉落在西方，
　　The evening star does shine; 晚星的光芒四射，
　　The birds are silent in their nest, And I must seek for mine. 鸟儿在巢里无声响，我也要寻觅我的巢，
　　The moon, like a flower In heaven's high bower 2, With silent delight, 月亮像一朵花，在天庭中高挂；沉默的愉快逍遥，
　　Sits and smiles on the night. 坐着对夜晚微笑。
　　Farewell, green fields and happy groves 3, 再见，绿色的田野，欢腾的小树林，
　　Where flocks have took delight, 在那里羊群多么开心；
　　Where lambs have nibbled 4, silent moves The feet of angels bright; 在那里小羊把青草啃，天使的脚步如此轻盈；
　　Unseen, they pour blessing 5, And joy without ceasing, On each bud and blossom, 他们暗中洒下祝福，不停地给予欢欣鼓舞，给每一朵花每一颗蓓蕾，
　　And each sleeping bosom 6. 每一颗心正在安睡。
　　They look in every thoughtless nest 他们探望每一个无忧虑的巢，
　　Where birds are covered warm; 在那里鸟儿暖和地被蒙盖；
　　They visit caves of every beast, 他们拜访每一只野兽的洞穴，
　　To keep them all from harm: 使他们都不会受到伤害；
　　If they see any weeping 若是他们看见有人在流泪，
　　That should have been sleeping, 虽然他们本该早早安睡，
　　They pour sleep on their head, 他们就将睡意注入他们的头脑，
　　And sit down by their bed. 然后在他们的床边坐下来了。
　　When wolves and tigers howl for prey 7, 正当犲狼虎豹为寻食而嚎叫，
　　They pitying stand and weep; 他们站在那里怜悯又哭泣；
　　Seeking to drive their thirst away, 多想把它们的饥渴赶跑，
　　And keep them from the sheep. 又要把它们和羊群隔离，
　　But, if they rush dreadful, The angels, most heedful, Receive each mild spirit, 但如果它们要可怕地向前冲；天使们可就要格外小心，接受每一个温和的灵魂，
　　New worlds to inherit. 定居在新世界的天庭。
　　And there the lion's ruddy eyes Shall flow with tears of gold: 在那儿狮子血红的眼睛，金色的泪水直流，
　　And pitying the tender cries, And walking round the fold: 怜悯那温柔的呼声徘徊在那羊栏的四周：
　　'And now beside thee, bleating 8 lamb, I can lie down and sleep, Or think on Him who bore thy name, 咩咩叫的羊羔在你身旁，现在我可以躺下入睡；或想到他的名字和你一样，
　　Graze after thee, and weep. 因你获得荣耀而流泪。
　　For, washed in life's river, My bright mane for ever Shall shine like the gold, As I guard o'er the fold.' 因为我在生命之河，把我亮闪闪的鬃毛洗过，它将永远金光闪闪，当我守护着这羊栏。
