The Divine Image 象形的神
To Mercy, Pity, Peace, and Love, All pray in their distress 1, And to these virtues 2 of delight 受苦受难的人都祈求仁慈、怜悯、爱与和平：而对这些使人喜悦的德行
Return their thankfulness. 又报以他们感谢之心。
For Mercy, Pity, Peace, and Love, 本来仁慈、怜悯、爱与和平
Is God our Father dear; 就是上帝，我们亲爱的父亲：
And Mercy, Pity, Peace, and Love, Is man, His child and care. 而仁慈、怜悯、爱与和平，又是人，他的孩子和亲人。
For Mercy has a human heart; 本来仁慈有一颗人的心，
Pity, a human face; And Love, the human form divine: 怜悯有一副人的脸，爱有神化身的人形，
And Peace the human dress. 而和平有人的衣衫。
Then every man, of every clime, 于是每一个人来自各个地方
That prays in his distress, 一切受苦受难的人
Prays to the human form divine: 都祈求神化身的人形
Love, Mercy, Pity, Peace. 赐与仁慈、怜悯、爱与和平。
And all must love the human form, 人人都必须爱这个人形，
In heathen, Turk, or Jew. 不论是异教徒、穆斯林或犹太。
Where Mercy, Love, and Pity dwell, 只要哪里有仁慈、爱与怜悯，
There God is dwelling 3 too. 哪里就有上帝与它们同在。

n.苦恼，痛苦，不舒适；不幸；vt.使悲痛
- Nothing could alleviate his distress.什么都不能减轻他的痛苦。
- Please don't distress yourself.请你不要忧愁了。
