Run, run, thou tiny rill; 流吧,流吧,涓涓溪流,
Run, and turn the village mill; 流去转动乡村的磨坊,
Run, and fill the deep, clear pool 流去填满又深又清的池塘。
In the woodland's shade so cool, 在森林里凉爽的树阴下,
Where the sheep love best to stray 流向羊群最易走失的地方。
In the sultry summer day; 在闷热的夏日里,
Where the wild birds bathe and drink, 流向野鸟游泳喝水的地方,
And the wild flowers fringe the brink. 去滋养那路边的野花,让它们快快开放。
Run, run, thou tiny rill, 流吧,流吧,涓涓溪流,
Round the rocks, and down the hill; 绕开岩石,流下山坡,
Sing to every child like me; 向着所有与我一样的孩子歌唱。
The birds will join you, full of glee: 鸟儿快乐地加入进来,歌声令我们倾倒。
And we will listen to the song 你一路歌唱,
You sing, your rippling course along. 旋律声随清流奔向远方。
