I met a little cottage girl: 我遇到一个乡村小姑娘，
She was eight years old, she said; 她说，她今年八岁；
Her hair was thick with many a curl, 卷发盘绕在她头上，
That clustered round her head. 又浓又密的一堆。
She had a rustic 1, woodland air, 她散发着一种乡野气息，
And she was wildly clad: 衣着也土里土气；
Her eyes were fair, and very fair; 她的眼睛很美，非常美丽，
Her beauty made me glad. 她的美令我欣喜。
Sisters and brothers, little maid, 你的姐妹和兄弟，小姑娘，
How many may you be? 一共有几个？
"How many? Seven in all," she said, “有几个？一共是七个，”她讲，
And, wondering, looked at me. 望着我，满脸好奇的神色，
