The alder 1 by the river 河岸边的桤木
Shakes out her powdery curls; 抖出粉状的卷；
The willow 2 buds in silver 柳树萌发银芽
For little boys and girls. 为了那些孩儿。
The little birds fly over, 小鸟飞过来，
And oh, how sweet they sing! 噢，歌声多美妙！
To tell the happy children 它们告诉快乐的小孩，
That once again't is Spring. 春天回来了。
The gay green grass comes creeping 青翠的小草慢慢隆起
So soft beneath their feet; 在他们脚下如此柔软，
The frogs begin to ripple 3 青蛙在水里此起彼落，
A music clear and sweet. 如乐音清脆而婉转。
And buttercups are coming, 毛茛也蓄势待发
And scarlet 4 columbine, 还有红色的耧斗菜，
And in the sunny meadows 在阳光照耀的草地上，
The dandelions shine. 蒲公英焕发光彩。
And just as many daisies 他们柔软的小手能握住多少，
As their soft hands can hold, 遍地的雏菊就有多少，
The little ones may gather, 小家伙们可以尽情采摘，
All fair in white and gold. 雪白和金黄的小花多美好。
Here blows the warm red clover, 这儿有热情的红三叶草迎风点头
There peeps the violet blue; 那边蓝色紫罗兰也含羞亮相，
Oh, happy little children! 噢，快乐的小孩！
God made them all for you. 上帝是为了你们创造如此春光。

- He gave john some alder bark.他给了约翰一些桤木树皮。
