laurance--I haven't the remotest idea where it is!
Have you looked upstairs?
soony--Yes.And downstairs and in the basement.I've
even looked in the car.
laurance--Well,the last time I saw it,it was on the
table in the living room.
soony--Mother said she put it in the den,but it isn't
there.At least,if it is,I can't see it.
laurance--Did you ask Harry 1 if he's seen it?
soony--He said he didn't even know I had one.
laurance--It seems thatit will remain the mystery
disappearance 2 of the century!
soony--Unfortunately,I really need it!

1）I haven't th remotest idea.=I don't have any idea.
remote：极少的；模糊的。
2）basement：地层的；地下室。
3）den：私房；地下室
4）remain=continue to be;remain是系动词，其后的成分是句子的表语。
5）mystery：神秘的，难于理解的事情。
