AN ENJOYABLE NIGHT

laurance--The other night certainly was an interesting
          one,wasn't it?
soony--You enjoyed it,then?
laurance--Immensely.I don't think I've ever been with
          such a stimulating 1 group of people.
soony--They are lively,aren't they?I think they're one
       of the liveliest groups I've ever been with.
laurance--I certainly got my mind stretched!I think
          it was shrinking!
soony--I find that's true with me,too.One needs that
       kind of company now and again just to keep the
       old gray matter from getting stagnant 2!
laurance--Will the group be meeting again soon?
soony--Not for another two months.We're taking a month's
       break because so many of us are going to be on
       vacation.
laurance--Well,let me know when you're going to meet
          again.I'd like to join you.
soony--Don't worry.I will.

与have sth. done类似的结构。
4）shrink:萎缩，退化。

6）gray matter:（人脑）白质；（俚语）人脑，智力。
7）keep...from getting stagnant":防止头脑僵化。
   stagnant原意为“停滞”；“迟钝”
8）Not for another two months=The group will not be meeting
