期待: Expect or look forward to?
我们常收到用户、听众们的留言：
"Love your shows! Expect new shows!" 很喜欢你们的节目，期待新节目！
这里，不该用expect
而应该用look forward to
"Love your shows! Look forwad to new shows!" 很喜欢你们的节目，期待新节目！
为什么？
Expect指的是基于标准、要求的期待；应该发生：
A boss expects a lot from his employees: 老板对员工有高要求、高期待
Look forward to指的是期待、愿望、盼望：
I'm really looking forward to the weekend: 我好期待周末
开灯: Turn on or open?
中文惯性，说“开灯”，很容易脱口而出“open the light"。
Can you open the light?
Can you turn on the light?
怎么区分？
电器、电子设备用turn on:
Turn on the light: 开灯
Turn on the TV: 开电视
Turn on the phone: 开手机
Devices 2: 设备
其它类型的东西，用open:
Open the door：开门
Open the box: 开盒子
Open your eyes: 睁开眼睛
对应“开"，“关”是turn off或者close。

名片：Name card or business card?
Name card是Chinglish, 英语可不是这样说的呢！
Business card在口语中，也可以简化为"card"。

Do you have a business card?

高：Tall or high?
Tall形容人，high形容楼房？错啦！
记住：
Tall用来形容人、楼房、树；High形容山、墙、高跟鞋。
Yao ming is very high.
Yao ming is very tall.
The building is very high.
The building is very tall.
Highrise: 高楼、高层建筑， 注意highrise是一个词
The trees are very high.
The trees are very tall.
The mountain is very tall.
The mountain is very high.
High heels: 高跟鞋
These heels are so high: 这双鞋的鞋跟好高啊
Fun or funny?
常见错误：
The party last night was so funny!
The party last night was so fun!
怎么区分？
Fun: 好玩儿、有乐趣、有意思
We had so much fun together: 我们一起玩儿得好开心！
It's so fun to learn English! 学英语很有乐趣！
Funny: 搞笑
Stephen Chou's movies are so funny! 周星驰的电影很搞笑！
My boyfriend's jokes are not funny at all! 我男友的笑话一点儿也不好笑。
注意：一个人可以同时fun和funny！
Fun口语里也常做形容词使用，比如形容人。
看一下区别：
Adam is a fun person: Adam是个很有意思的人
Adam is a funny person: Adam是个很幽默的人
沙发≠Sofa
大家写留言习惯用的"sofa"完全错啦！
英语里，sofa就是家具，不能用在留言上。
正确的用法是：
First
First to comment
马克 ≠ Mark
同样，"马克"也不能直接翻成mark！
应该用：
Bookmark
Bookmarked
