"Very well, sell me. I am satisfied," said Pinocchio. “非常好，卖了我吧，我很满意。”皮诺乔说。
But as he spoke 1, he gave a quick leap and dived into the sea. 可他说着猛地一跳，跳到海里去了。
He swam on and on. After a while, he turned around again and called louder than before: 他游啊游，游了一阵又回过身来，叫得比之前更响：
"Good-by, Master. If you ever need a piece of good dry firewood, remember me." “再见了，主人。您若需要一片上好的干柴火，记得想起我。”
In a few seconds he had gone so far he could hardly be seen. 一转眼工夫他已经走得老远，几乎看不见了。
All that could be seen of him was a very small black dot moving swiftly on the blue surface of the water, 唯一可以在蓝色的海面上看见的是他的黑点，迅速地移动，
a little black dot which now and then lifted a leg or an arm in the air. 并不时地把脚或手从水里伸到空中。
One would have thought that Pinocchio had turned into a porpoise 2 playing in the sun. 人们还以为皮诺乔变成了鼠海豚在阳光下玩耍呢。
After swimming for a long time, Pinocchio saw a large rock in the middle of the sea, a rock as white as marble. 皮诺乔游了很长时间，看见大海当中有一块礁石，跟大理石一样白。
High on the rock stood a little Goat bleating 3 and calling and beckoning 4 to the Marionette 5 to come to her. 礁石顶上站着一只小山羊，咩咩的叫着示意他过去。
