Pinocchio went through the water like a shot—swifter and swifter. He came close to the rock. 皮诺乔游得越来越快，像一颗出膛的子弹，游到了礁石那儿。
The Goat leaned over and gave him one of her hoofs 1 to help him up out of the water. Alas 2! It was too late. 山羊弯下身子，伸出一个蹄子帮他从水里出来！哎，太迟了！
The monster overtook him and the Marionette 3 found himself in between the rows of gleaming white teeth. 怪物追上他，木偶发现自己就在怪物几排发光的白色牙齿之间。

When he recovered his senses the Marionette could not remember where he was. 等到这个木偶从昏迷中醒来，已经不记得自己在哪了。
Around him all was darkness, a darkness so deep and so black that for a moment he thought he had put his head into an inkwell. 他周围漆黑一片，太黑以至于他还以为自己把头钻到了一瓶墨水里。

Pinocchio at first tried to be brave, 皮诺乔起先想要鼓起勇气，
but as soon as he became convinced that he was really and truly in the Shark's stomach, he burst into sobs 6 and tears. 可他一确定自己真的是在海怪的肚子里，就开始抽泣流泪。
