   The attack comes as a total surprise.

  who was on board the battle ship Arizona described the scene:

  "The bodys of dead were sunk and badly burnt men were heading for the quarterdeck."

  "only to four apparently 2 dead or badly wounded"

  In this attack launched without any declaration of war two and a half thousand Americans died and twelve hundred wounded

  whereas less than a hundred Japaness pilots and sailors were killed.

  These images would shock the American people.

  Yet the Japanese forces did not land in Hawaii nor they take the harbor.

  The President of the United States Franklin D. Roosevelt has been expecting the attack

  Tension between two countries was at its height.

  But who would've imagined that the Japanese naval aviation units
  但谁会料到日本海军航空兵部队
  would be able to strike 5 thousand kilometers away from their bases.

  The next day Roosevelt goes before congress:
  隔天罗斯福在国会发表演说:
  "Yesterday, December 7th, 1941"

  "A day which we'll live in infamy 7. "

  "United States of America was suddenly and deliberately 8 attacked."

  "No matter how long it may take us to overcome this premeditated invasion"

  "The American people in the right just might, we'll win for all to absolutely victory."
