英语课

 今天Jenny说说自己学发音的一些体会和感想。不敢说对所有人都适用,但对于在中国传统英语教育体制下成长起来的人,还是有借鉴价值的。

关键词:
练发音的误区
Pronunciation: 发音
Expertise 1: 专长
I'm struggling with some really basic pronunciation problems: 我对发音有很多基本的困扰
Tips: 窍门
Rule of thumb: 心得、经验法则
一.不要把理论作为切入点
Don't use pronunciation theories as your starting point: 不要把发音理论作为切入点
While rules and theories are important, do not use them as your starting point because they are very abstract: 虽然理论很重要,但是不适合作为切入点,因为理论太抽象
You need to start with application, i.e. listening to native speaker resources as much as possible to get a sense of how things should sound like in English: 必须从实际口语应用出发,多听母语资源,树立对标准发音的认识
二.树立切合实际的期望值
Understand that you will never sound entirely 2 like a native speaker: 不要期望自己说英语会跟母语者完全一样
I used to be very self-conscious of that. I wanted to sound as perfect as possible:我以前特别在意自己的发音,希望每个词、每句话都说得完美
But I realized that it was stopping me from using and embracing English: 但后来,发现这种追求其实妨碍了我使用英语、享受英语
I'm living in peace with the fact that I will never sound like an American: 现在,我明白自己永远不会说英语跟美国人完全一样
I'm fine with that. But I do think you should correct some of the most obvious pronunciation mistakes: 但我觉得这没问题,只是一些特别明显的发音错误,是需要去改正的
三.积极改正最基本、最明显的发音错误
Work hard to correct the most glaring, low-level pronunciation mistakes:积极改正最显眼、最基本的发音错误
Those mistakes can reflect badly on you, damage your professional images: 这些错误会让你显得很不专业
They're also the easiet to correct: 它们也是最容易改正的饿
如何纠正最诡异的中式发音
最典型的中式发音错误
辅音后面加元音
Adding a vowel 3 sound after a consonant 4: 习惯在辅音后面加元音
Consonant: 辅音
Vowel: 元音
Desk读成desk?
Must读成m?st?
二."Th"发音很诡异
Mispronouncing "th": th发音错误
Voiced "th":气音
Unvoiced "th": 有声带振动音
Some of the most common "th" mistakes: 最常见的一些“th"发音错误
This, that, these, those 读成 dis, dat, zese, zose
The读成ze
Think读成sink?
Mother, weather读成mozer, weazer
"Th" is pronounced differently when it appears in different parts of a word: "th"出现在词不同部分时,发音的规则不一样
We'll go over those in the pronunciation course: 我们在发音课里会详细教大家
三.无法连读
Unable to connect words together: 连读很难
You also need to not see words as individual words, but as word units: 不要把词看作一个个分开的个体,要把它们看成词组单元
Do not just try to perfect pronunciation of individual words: 光练习每个词的发音没有用,串起来又不对了
You need to practice the pronunciation of lexical chunks 5: 一定要练习语块的发音
Focus on most commonly phrases: 从最常用的词组、语块开始
How're you?
How's it going?
四.不习惯用缩写
Try to speak in contractions 6: 口语里用缩写
This is a great shortcut 7 to help you sound more fluent and native: 这是个让你听起来自然、流利的捷径
Use common contractions in your everyday speech: 平时说英语,采用最常见、最常用的缩写
For example: 例如
I will... I'll
I am...I'm
What is...What's
任何承诺一个短期班能解决你发音问题的,都是卖假药的!
A short-term course will not fundamentally change your pronunciation: 任何短期的发音培训都不会根本改变你的发音
You need to combine it with an immersive learning environment where you're exposed to English on a daily basis: 一定要结合日常不断地接触英语
Listen, shadow, speak:听、模仿、说
Make a habit of it: 把它变成你的日常习惯
That's how you achieve real change: 这样才能真正得到改变
