Greatest Hitter in the World
世界上最棒的击球手
A little boy strutted 1 through the backyard, wearing his baseball cap and toting a ball and bat.
一个小男孩戴着棒球帽、背着棒球和球棒在后院里昂首阔步地走过。
"I'm the greatest hitter in the world," he announced.
“我是世界上最棒的击球手，”他宣布说。
Then, he tossed the ball into the air, swung at it, and missed.

"Strike One!" he yelled.
“一击！”他叫道。
Undaunted, he picked up the ball and said again, "I'm the greatest hitter in the world!"

He tossed the ball into the air. When it came down he swung again and missed.
他把球抛到空中，球落下时挥动球棒，没击中。
"Strike Two!"
“二击！”
The boy then paused a moment to examine his bat and ball carefully.
这回，男孩停下来仔细地检查了球和球棒。
He spit on his hands and rubbed them together.
他往手心里吐了唾沫，搓了搓。
He straightened his cap and said once more, "I'm the greatest hitter in the world!"

Again he tossed the ball up in the air and swung at it. He missed.

"Strike Three!"
“三击！”
"Wow!" he exclaimed. "I'm the greatest PITCHER 2 in the world!"
“哇噢！”他激动地叫道，“我是世界上最棒的投手！”

1. swing at
（挥动手臂等）朝…打去；朝…挥击；挥向；
eg. Blanche swung at her but she moved her head back and Blanche missed...
布兰奇挥手朝她打去，但她头向后一闪，布兰奇没有打到。
eg. I picked up his baseball bat and swung at the man's head.

2. come down
落下；降落；
eg. The cold rain came down.
下起了冰冷的雨。
eg. The curtain came down after the first act.
第一幕过后，幕布落了下来。
eg. A Boeing 737 came down on the M1 motorway 3.

3. rub together
相互摩擦；揉搓；
eg. He rubbed his hands together a few times.
他搓了几下手。
eg. When you wash your hands you rub them together with soap.
你洗手的时候，用肥皂搓两只手。
趾高气扬地走，高视阔步( strut的过去式和过去分词 )
- The players strutted and posed for the cameras. 运动员昂首阔步，摆好姿势让记者拍照。
- Peacocks strutted on the lawn. 孔雀在草坪上神气活现地走来走去。
