   Do you understand? 问题在哪儿

  为什么不礼貌?
It's too harsh and direct: 太严厉、太直接了
  Talking down to people: 语气居高临下
  如果一定要问,记得:
  Watch your tone: 注意语气语调
  Context: 一定要有个上下文,不要没头没脑地就问。
  “你明白吗?”怎么礼貌表达?
  如果想询问对方是否明白自己的意思,有很多礼貌说法。
  1.Polite & non-confrontational: 礼貌不会引起反感的说法
  "Am I making sense?" 我说清楚了吗?
"Am I explaining this clearly?" 我解释明白了吗?
  这两种说法之所以特别礼貌,是因为它们把责任放在了自己这一方:
They focus on yourself & the topic rather than on the listener
  2.Polite & non-confrontational: 礼貌不会引起反感的说法
"Does that make sense [to you]?" 你明白刚才说的事了吗?
  这个说法和上一个的不同之处在于:
The focus is on the listener. 关注点在于听的人。
  使用这句话,常常不是问我的英语你听懂了吗,而是在问我说的事你理解了吗?
  怎么回答:
That makes perfect sense to me.
  3.Informal & non-confrontational: 不那么正式但不会引起反感的说法
"Did you get/catch all that?" 你明白了吗?
"Are we on the same page?" 我们想法一致吗?
  使用这些表达的时候还是要注意语气。
  The tone is really important.
  在第一句中,did不是用来表达过去时,而是起到软化语气的作用。
Are we on the same page? 常常也不是用来表达你听懂了英语吗,而是指需要两个人同意某个事,对方是不是能理解。工作场合常常用到。
4.Depends on volume/tone of voice: 取决于语气和音量的用法
  "Is that clear?" 清楚了吗?
"Are we understanding each other?" 我们彼此都明白对方的想法了吗? (this is kind of passive-aggressive)
  "You feel me?" 你能理解我吗?男性之间会用的,你能理解吗
"Capische?" 你懂?(Italian - sounds ridiculous in English conversation unless you're actually in the mafia, or saying it ironically/sarcastically).
  怎么用:
Is that clear? 很直接。It's usually used from the top to the bottom. 上级对下级。
Are we understanding each other? 会用这种表达的常常是一个passive-aggressive(被动型攻击)的人。不直接却又喜欢挑事。
  You feel me? 男性间常常会用,有点想马景涛的那张meme图“你能不能理解我啊?”
  Capisce? 这是个意大利语,源于黑手党影片。听起来有点像威胁,又有点俏皮。
  5.More common when angry: 生气的时候会用的表达
"Am I making myself clear?" 我说得够清楚了吧?
  "Are we clear?" 我们都明白?
  "You got me?" 你听懂我的话了吧?
  "You hear me?" 你听到我说的了吧?
  这些表达都非常不客气,如果你的确很生气,可以用这些质问!
6.Colloquial 1 interjections: 口语化的叹词 where you don't really care if they understand but throw this into the conversation periodically - these tend to vary by region & ethnic 2 stereotypes 3:
  "See?" 明白?
"You know what I'm saying?"你懂我的话对吧? (Mashed together sounds like "Know-um-sayn"/"numSayn"?)
"Right?" "Y'know?" 对吗?你懂的,对吗? This is younger & more typically feminine.
  "Catch my drift?" 懂的我意思吧?
  特点:
These tend to vary by region & ethnic stereotypes. 用于特定地区或族群。
  怎么用:
  See?比较广泛,但很不正式。
You know what I'm saying? 这个表达常被简化为"Know-um-sayn"/"numSayn"?(请戳音频听发音)
  "Right?" "Y'know?" 常为年轻人或者女性使用
  "Catch my drift?" 常用来八卦闲聊,说一些不正式的事情是会用到。
