You Are the Fifth
你是第五条
A man saw a fisherman standing 1 in the lake with a mirror. "Excuse me," he said. "What are you doing?"
有个人看到渔夫拿着一面镜子站在湖里。“请问，”他说，“你在干什么？”
"Fishing," the fisherman replied.
“钓鱼。”渔夫回答。
"With a mirror?" the man asked, in surprise.
“用镜子？”那个人吃惊地问。
"Sure--it's a new invention. I am going to make a fortune."
“当然了！这是个新发明。我要赚一大笔钱了！”
"Could you tell how it works?"
“你能告诉我怎么钓的吗？”
"Okay, but it will cost you $10."
“好吧。不过你得交十块钱。”
To satisfy his curiosity, the man handed the fisherman the money. "Now show me how it works," he said.
为了满足自己的好奇心，那个人给了渔夫钱。“现在示范给我看吧。”他说。
"Well," the fisherman began, "you aim the mirror into the water, and when a fish goes by, you startle him with rays of light reflected from the mirror. The fish gets confused and then you grab it."
“好的。”渔夫开始了。“你把镜子对着湖水，鱼过来的时候，你就用镜子反射的光来吓它。鱼迷糊了，你就抓住它了。”
The man was greatly surprised. "Don't tell me how you fish. It's ridiculous! How many have you caught?"
那个人很吃惊地说道：“你不要说你怎么钓鱼了。无稽之谈！你钓了多少了？”
"You are the fifth today!" replied the fisherman with a smile.
“今天你是第五条！”渔夫笑着回答。
