英语中有一些词汇看起来非常简单，但组合起来使用却会让英语变得十分地道，今天的节目就来说说这些short&sweet的短语。
今天给大家介绍的都是“A和B”这种结构的短语：
A & B phrases: two words, with an and
在使用时一定要注意，不能随意改变两个词的顺序，或是替换成其它词语。
#1.Short and Sweet
形容这些简单又实用的短语就可以说：
Short and sweet: 少而精，简洁明了
I've got a few announcements, but I'll keep it short and sweet. 我有几个事情要说，但是我会尽量言简意赅。
#2.Cut and Dry
相反，很冗长的事物就会让我们觉得乏味:
Cut and dry: 乏味的，无聊的
The lecture was, as usual, cut and dry. 讲座一如既往地乏味。
#3.Quick and Easy
形容一件事情很容易做，并且做起来很快：
Quick and easy: 快速简便
I have some quick and easy recipes for breakfast. 我知道一些快速简便的早餐食谱。
#4.Black and White
谈论人生的时候，想要表达很多事情没有那么绝对，不是那么非黑即白，很多时候是in between，我们可以用这个短语：
Black and white: 非常清楚，黑白分明
It's not all black and white, you know. 你要知道并非所有的事情都是非黑即白的。
#5.Hit and Miss
和人生相关的另一个短语是：
Hit and miss: 击中或失球，比喻一个不确定的状态，时而好时而不好，偶然随意
The trains are often late, so getting to work on time is a fairly hit and miss affair. 火车经常晚点，所以准时上班这件事就看运气了。
#6.Apples and Oranges
你不能随便比较两个东西，它们是完全独立的两个事物，各有各的优劣：
Apples and oranges: 苹果和桔子，指两件性质不同的事物，没有可比性
You are comparing apples and oranges.你对比的是两件完全不同的事情。
#7.Bread and Butter
另一个和吃相关的短语是：
Bread and butter: 面包和黄油，指你赖以生存的事物，比如工作，特殊的技能
I can't miss another day of work. That's my bread and butter.我不能再上班缺勤了，那可是我的饭碗。
#8.Trial and Error
Trial and error: /tra??l/ /?er.?/ 字面意思是尝试和错误，表示试错
There's no instant way, it's just a process of trial and error.没有快速的方法，这就是一个试错的过程。
#9.Tried and Tested
Tried and tested: 验证过的，证明是好的
这个短语往往跟着第三个词true，表示真实的，可靠的:
We know our process is tried, tested, and true. 我们知道我们的方法是可靠的。
#10.Safe and Sound
Safe and sound: 安然无恙，平安无事
一个人乘坐飞机，抵达之后可以这样对关心你的人报一声平安：
I arrived safe and sound. 我平安抵达。
#11.Come and Go
这个短语经常让人联想起生活在大城市中来来往往的人们，没有什么是持久的，体现流动性很大。可以形容潮汐（tide）潮流（trend） 风格（style）朋友（ friends）等等。
Come and go: 来来去去
People come and go，but diamond lasts forever. 人总是来来去去，但钻石恒久远。
#12.Done and Done
Done and done: 完成，搞定
这个短语可以放在一件事情的最后，表示结束了，做好了：
Done and done, let's go home. 结束了，回家吧。
如果老板给你下达了一个任务，你也可以用这个短语表示信心很足，程度很深：
Can you do this？你能做这个吗？
Done and done= Yes, I can 放心吧，我能搞定
#13.Through and Through
另一个表示程度很深的短语是：
Through and through: 完全，彻头彻尾的
Love someone through and through 深深地爱着某人
#14.Fast and Furious 1
最后这个既是实用的短语也是一部非常成功的电影名
Fast and furious: 飞快地，电影《速度与激情》
When she told her parents about quitting job, their reaction was fast and furious. 当她告诉父母辞职的事时，他们的反应迅速又激烈。
