Monica: Easy Rach, we'll find it. (To all) Won't we!
Chandler and Joey: Oh! Yeah!
Joey: Alright, when'd'ya have it on last?
Phoebe: Doy! Probably right before she lost it!
Chandler: You don't get a lot of 'doy' these days...
Rachel: I know I had it this morning, and I know I had it when I was in the kitchen with...
Chandler: ...Dinah?
Rachel: (looks at the lasagne and realizes something) Ohhhhh, don't be mad...
Easy,Rach,we’ll find it.(别急,Rach,我们会帮你找到的。) No need to get so worked up.(用不着这么着急)。或Relax.It’s nothing at a11.(放心吧。 Be calm and take things as they come.Don’t take it to heart.Try to look on the bright side of things.(冷静些,事情既然这样了,就随它去吧。
Chin 1 up,life goes on.You were just unlucky this time.I believe you'll get it next time.(别灰心,还有机会的。 It's not the end of the WOrld.(这没什么大不了的。)
The boss was as mad as a wet hen. (as)mad as a wet hen(非常生气)中的wet hen直译过来的意思是“湿的母鸡”。 在生活中我们都有(as)mad as a wet hen的时候。My wife gets as mad as wet hen whenever anyone drops ashes on the rug 2.
A smart girl never goes on a date without a little mad money.(一个聪明的姑娘身上不带点回家用的车费,决不出去与男人约会。)
That’s such a beautiful dress.I’m tempted 3 to use some of my mad moneyand buy it.(那件衣服太漂亮了,我真想用一些私房钱买下它。)
The dog is barking like mad.
It’s raining like mad.(正在下着瓢泼大雨。)
We ran like mad to catch the bus.(我们拼命奔跑去赶公共汽车。)及The weeds in our yard are growing like mad.(我家院子里的杂草在猛长。)Are you mad about English?Thcn why not learn it like mad?(你对英语着迷吗?
Rachel:When did you have it on last? Doy!Probably right before she lost it! doy在这里是个感叹词(exclamation),表示“What a stupid question! The answer is obvious.”
