They were the last things Jon wanted to hear. 正是他此刻最不想听的靡靡之音。
He wiped away his tears on the sleeve of his shirt, furious that he had let them fall, and turned to go. 他用衣袖抹去泪水，气恼自己如何把持不住，随后准备转身离开。
Boy, a voice called out to him. Jon turned. 小子。有人叫住他。琼恩转头。
Tyrion Lannister was sitting on the ledge 1 above the door to the Great Hall, looking for all the world like a gargoyle 2. 提利昂·兰尼斯特正坐在厅堂前门上面突出的壁架上，睥睨世间万物，活像只石像鬼。
The dwarf 3 grinned down at him. Is that animal a wolf? 这侏儒朝他笑笑：你身旁那家伙可是只狼？
A direwolf, Jon said. His name is Ghost. He stared up at the little man, his disappointment suddenly forgotten. 是冰原狼。琼恩说，叫做白灵。他抬头望着侏儒，先前的不满被好奇取而代之。
What are you doing up there? Why aren’t you at the feast? 你在那儿做什么？怎没在里面参加晚宴呢？
Too hot, too noisy, and I’d drunk too much wine, the dwarf told him. 里面太热太吵，我又多喝了点酒。侏儒告诉他，
I learned long ago that it is considered rude to vomit 4 on your brother. Might I have a closer look at your wolf? 很久以前，我就学到了一个教训：在你的哥哥身上呕吐是件不太礼貌的事。我可以靠近瞧瞧你那只狼吗？
Jon hesitated, then nodded slowly. Can you climb down, or shall I bring a ladder? 琼恩迟疑了一下，然后缓缓点头：你能自己下来么？还是要我去弄张梯子？
Oh, bleed that, the little man said. He pushed himself off the ledge into empty air. 去，瞧不起我啊？小个子说。他两手往后一用力，整个人翻腾进半空中。
Jon gasped 5, then watched with awe 6 as Tyrion Lannister spun 7 around in a tight ball, 琼恩惊讶得喘不过气，瞠目结舌地看着提利昂紧缩成一个球，
landed lightly on his hands, then vaulted 8 backward onto his legs. 轻巧地以手着地，然后后空翻站起身。
Ghost backed away from him uncertainly. 白灵有些迟疑地向后退了几步。
The dwarf dusted himself off and laughed. I believe I’ve frightened your wolf. My apologies. 侏儒拍拍身上的灰尘，笑道：我想我一定是吓着你的小狼了。真不好意思。
He’s not scared, Jon said. He knelt and called out. Ghost, come here. Come on. That’s it. 他才没被吓着。琼恩边说边弯身唤道：白灵，过来，快过来，乖。
