 　　Like Paul Jobs, Joanne Schieble was from a rural Wisconsin family of German heritage.

　　Her father, Arthur Schieble, had immigrated 1 to the outskirts 2 of Green Bay,

　　In the summer of 1954, Joanne went with Abdulfattah to Syria.

　　When Joanne found out that her baby had been placed with a couple who had not even graduated from high school, she refused to sign the adoption 12 papers.
