lend指“借(出V. borrow指“借（人）”，它们的用法不同， lend 的主语是贷方，如：Tom lent me this book. = Tom lent this book to me.汤姆借这本书给我。而borrow的主语是借方， 如：I borrowed this book from Tom.我向汤姆借这本书。另有 一个用法与borrow相同的词是loan,它可以当名同及动词使用，当动词使用时，用法同borrow。
2. "I only have forty，"Sam replied.
山姆回答说：“我只有40。”
