A man asked his doctor, "Doc, my wife 1 has lost her voice 2. How can I help her get it back?"
The doctor replied 3, " Try coming home at four in the morning!"
Notes:
1. A man asked his doctor, "Doc, my wife has lost her voice."
一个男人问他的医生：“医生，我妻子失声了。”
2. How can I help her get it back?
我要怎么帮她恢复呢？
"get..back"是“使…回到原来状态”的意思，也可以指“送某人回某处”，如：He got 4 her back holeL他送她回饭店。
3. The doctor replied, " Try coming home at four in the morning!"
医生回答说：“试试看，在凌晨4点回家！”
"try + to + v."，表示“试著努力去完成某件亊情"；而"try + v.-ing"，表示“试着去做某件事”，没有努力的意思，只是纯粹试试看。
这真是个好办法，因为在那种情况下，妻子的潜能被激发了，想必这个医生也有过相同的经历，曾经因凌晨回家而被妻子怒斥。
