LESSON 27 The dog and the shadow 第二十七课 狗和影子
As a dog was crossing a brook 1 with a bone in his mouth, he saw his own image in the clear water, 一只狗正穿过一条小溪，嘴里叼着骨头,他看到自己的影子在清澈的水里,
and mistook it for another dog carrying another bone. 并误以为是另一只狗拿着另一个骨头。
Not content with what he himself possessed 2, the greedy creature snatched 3 at the prize which he saw below. 不满足于自己拥有什么,贪婪的动物抢走他看见下面的奖赏。
In doing so, he of course dropped the real bone, which fell into the brook and was lost! 在这样做的时候,他当然放弃了真正的骨头,掉进了小溪,输了!
The greedy, grasping at more than they have, often lose even that which they might in peace have enjoyed. 贪婪,贪婪的超过他们,甚至经常失去他们可能在和平时所享受的。
