1. 解词释义
有的人明知自己有坏习惯，也很想把它改掉。可是每次下定决心后不久又慢慢走上回头路，之前所下的功夫就全功尽弃了。美国人就把这样的人叫做“backslider”，指“想改掉坏习惯，但改了一段时间后又恢复老习惯的人。”
它是动词“backslide”的名词形式，则表示做这样的事情的人。Backslide的意思有“退步，倒退，故态复萌；退缩回去；重犯错误”。例如： You've done a good job in the exam, I hope you won't backslide.（你考试考得不错，我希望你不要退步。）The national economy, meanwhile, is continuing to backslide.（美国经济，在此期间，正在继续倒退。）
