Boob tube是指 “电视机”，相当于Television。Tube是“电子管”的意思，刚发明出来的电视机使用真空管，美国人在就时候就称呼电视机为tube。Boob是“笨蛋”的意思，刚发明电视机的时候，电视节目非常枯燥，只有笨蛋才去看电视。
