1. 解词释义
Carry a torch的字面意思是“高举火炬”，比喻为“单恋，喜欢”或“执着某一事业或理想”的意思。如果表示单恋，喜欢某人或某物，执着于某一具体的事业或理想，在短语后面用解词for，后面再接名词或动名词短语，即：carry a torch for something or doing something。
