The people of Qingdao are still reeling from the shock after the oil pipeline 1 explosion blasted the Huangdao district on Friday.

Racing 2 against time.

We follow a rescue team to the heart of the blast. The closer we get, the more heartbreak we see. Cranes are to lift shattered concrete slabs 3 out of the trench 4. They came smashing down during the explosions, burying dozens.

Workers are seen at the site of a pipeline explosion in Qingdao

Development Zone, in Qingdao, east China's Shandong Province,

Be careful. Don’t fall into the trench.

More than 50 hours after the blast, the search for bodies continues. But weather conditions are making it risky 5 for rescuers.

Reporter: “It’s the second day after the deadly explosions. Now the heavy downpour is hampering 6 the rescue and reconstruction 7 operation. This place is getting very very dangerous and very unstable 8. Rescuers are now pushing us out to guarantee our safety.”

“Go back! Go back! It’s not safe!”

Behind us is a scene of devastation 9.

Friday’s explosions ripped open an entire road, leaving a one-and-a-half kilometer trench. Parts of the community were reduced to rubble 10.

As rescue and clean-up continue, many people say the victims are owed a thorough investigation 11.
