Northeast China has been hit by another bout 1 of heavy snow from Sunday. In Heilongjiang Province, blizzard 2 warnings were upgraded to the highest red alert on Monday afternoon.
Seven expresways are closed, and traffic restrictions 3 are temporarily imposed in the provincial 4 capital Harbin. The continued snowfall has also shut down expressways in neighboring Jilin and Liaoning Provinces.

However, air and rail transport have not been seriously affected 5 there.
Some parts in the Northeast may see heavy snow of more than 20 millimeters in the next 24 hours. The National Meteorological Center says it will continue through Tuesday.
