but said as calmly as I could, What you say is no doubt true enough, sir; 我定了定神，你说的毫无疑问,先生,
but how could I know there was any peculiar 5 ferocity in that particular whale, though indeed I might have inferred as much from the simple fact of the accident. 但我怎么能知道有任何特殊的凶猛,特别的鲸鱼,尽管事实上我可能会从一个简单事故中推断。
