Dear John letter

Dear John letter是指“绝交信”,是美式习语。John Bull是美国人称呼英国人的一种方式。在美国人的眼中,英国人古板,愚蠢,无法打交道,并且两国在历史上还曾经是敌对国。于是,该习语便成了“绝交信”的代名词。
