Nick: Hi everybody, this is Nick. Welcome to teaching series "how do you say this in American English."大家好，我是Nick.
David: Hi guys. My name is David
Nick: 翘课啊，是很多人在学生时代都会做的事，包括我自己。有时候起床晚了，或者是有其他的事冲突了，或者是干脆就不想去，都会翘课。当然了，我不是鼓励你们翘课，上学嘛，还是需要学到一些知识的。还是要对得起自己的学费。翘课不仅是中国学生，国外的学生也翘，那翘课在美语中怎么说呢？
Nick: Hey what's up, David
David: Hey Nick
Nick: I was partying last night. That was so lit but now I have a hangover.
David: Oh really. That party must have been cool. I remember you have a class later. It might be hard for you to go like this.
Nick: Yeah Yeah I do. How do you know that? I do have a class, I'm not planning to go actually. I probably will just staying in house. Get some sleep or watch Netflix.
David: Oh are you ditching the class?
Nick: Correct. I'm gonna skip that. I mean, it's not a big deal. Attendance 1 won't be recorded in my class. At least for that one. The professor, by the way, he is pretty chill 2 so I'll be fine.
David: oh wow, I guess. I just never skip classes myself.
Nick: Is it really? You don't skip classes?
David: Nope. I've never done that.
Nick: wow, your school life is not complete without skipping classes. At least what they say, you have to skip classes to make your school life complete.
David: Oh, maybe I'll get there someday.
Nick: No no no. I was just kidding. Just don't do that. It's not a good thing. I'm a bad student and you are a good one. Just don't do that.
David: Thank you
Nick:刚刚我们在说过，skip the class 就是翘课。也可以用另一个短语，叫ditch, 也是会用的，但是skip用的频率会高很多。所以通常会用skip the class, 但是ditch也是可以。 Aright, so this is pretty much it for this time. I'll see you guys next time, bye.
David: See you guys.
