Dialogue 2
Xiao Gao: So, what did you end up getting your dad for Father's Day?
Jingjing: Well, I scrapped 1 the idea of getting him a shirt or watch, and decided 2 to take him out to eat, just me and him.
Xiao Gao: That sounds cool. Did he enjoy the grub?
Jingjing: Of course he did. Don't you know? -------------------------------------. But the best part of the night was the chit chat we had.
Xiao Gao: Really? What did you guys talk about?
Jingjing: I told him how grateful 3 I was for having a dad like him. I'm sure it's not easy to raise a family. I wanted him to know how much I appreciate everything he's done.
Xiao Gao: Well, your dad must be a really good man. You know what they say: the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
Jingjing: He's the best! By the way, I almost forgot, how did the picnic go?
Xiao Gao: Not very well. Right when we got there it started raining cats and dogs. We packed up our things and went back home.
Jingjing: That's a shame! Oh well, I'm sure he was still happy that you tried. It's the thought that counts.
Xiao Gao: That's true. Next year I'll have to make sure I look at the weather report before I go on a picnic
Jingjing: Speaking of which, are you hungry? Let's go grab 4 a bite to eat.
Xiao Gao: Sounds good. Let's go!
