LESSON 26 A WEEK AT THE FARM 第二十六课 农场里的一周
Jane has been for a week at the farm where her aunt lives. Now she has come back; and she has much to tell of what she saw. 简在农场度过了一个星期，她的阿姨住在那儿。现在她回到了家里，她有许多见闻要讲给大家听。
Each day she went to see the maid 1 milk the cows; and the maid gave her a drink of the nice warm milk. 每天她去看女仆给奶牛挤奶；女仆会给她喝一杯暖暖的牛奶。
She saw the ducks swim in the pond; and she used to throw in bits of bread to them. 她见到鸭子在池塘里游泳；她还给它们扔过面包屑。
It was a fine sight for Jane, to see how fast they would swim to get the bread. 见到鸭子们如何快速地游向面包屑，这对简来说是幅美丽的画面。
Each day, too, Jane went with her aunt, and helped her to feed the hens. 每天她还去帮她的阿姨喂农场里的母鸡。
The hens had no fear. They came close up to her, and picked up the crumbs 2 as fast as she let them fall on the ground. 母鸡不怕人。它们来到她身旁，很快地啄食从她手中散落在地上的面包渣。
