Got Well
One day a boy came to his teacher and said,“Teacher, my father wants to know if you like roast pig.”
“I certainly do”, said the teacher, “and you tell your father he is very kind to think of me.”
Days passed, and nothing more was said about the roast pig.
Finally the teacher said to the boy,“I thought your father was going to send me over some roast pig.”
“Yes,” said the boy, “he did intend to, but the pig got well.”
The sun was roasting 2 us. They roasted 3 his new book.
2.think of想起。Will you think of me after I’ve left? They all thought of her as a nice girl. Dick thinks of himself as a genius in literature. He’s thinking of studying abroad.
3.“nothing more was said about the roast pig”
They sent him over to the police. We'll send the new books over to you next week.
I intended the gift for you. She intended that her daughter should study English.
6.“ but the pig got well”但是猪又好了,根据上文可以推断,这里的意思是:猪原来病了,男孩的父亲想反正猪也卖不了了,干脆利用起来给老师送点礼物;结果后来猪病好了,他又舍不得送了。
