Don’t Want to Miss It
A guy hosted a dinner party for people from work, including his boss.
All during the sit-down dinner, the host's three-year-old girl stared at her father's boss sitting across from her. The girl could hardly eat her food for staring.
The man checked his tie, felt his face for food, patted 1 his hair in place, but nothing stopped her from staring at him. He tried his best to ignore her, but finally it was too much for him.
He asked her, "Why are you staring at me?"
Everyone at the table had noticed her behavior and the table went quiet for her response.
The little girl said, "My Daddy said you drink like a fish and I don't want to miss it!"

不想错过
有一个人作东给同事们办了个晚餐派对，也邀请了他的老板。
整个由服务员端来吃的晚餐过程中，作东人三岁的女儿一直盯着坐在对面的爸爸的老板看。因为一直盯着，所以女孩儿几乎没吃东西。
那个老板检查了自己的领带有没有打好，脸上有没有食物，还轻拂了头发，可是女孩儿还是盯着他看。他试着不理会小女孩，可最终还是忍不住了。
他问她：“你为什么一直看我？”
桌上的每个人都注意到了女孩儿的行为，于是安静地等她的回答。
小女孩儿说：“我老爸说你喝酒的时候像条鱼一样，我可不想错过这么精彩的表演！”
词汇讲解】
1.host作东。作动词还有“招待／主持／举办”的意思：Our school will host a sports meeting.我们学校即将举办运动会。
2.sid-down由服务员端来吃的。Sit down 是坐下的意思，加了连字符变为形容词，专门形容那些由服务员上菜的餐会。
3.stare at盯着看。stare还有别的用法，比如，stare down使屈服：stare sb. down on the issues在这个问题上使某人就范。还有make sb. stare使某人大吃一惊，be staring sth. in the face面临…的厄运。
