laurance--I give up!I simply can't learn French!
soony--Why do you say that?I think you're making
a lot of progress.
laurance--No,I'm not.I try and try and I still can't
speak it very well.
soony--Learning any language takes a lot of effort.
But don't give up.Why don't we practice those
dialogs together?
laurance--Good idea.That just might help.
注解：
1）give up=stop trying,不再做努力。与keep up trying是一对反义词组。
2）make progress：是固定搭配。意思是取得进步/进展
3）take a lot of effort:take在这里有“需要”“花费”的意思。
