【分析】本句用于图画作文的开头部分，描述图画内容的两个方面，中间用whereas连接。whereas引出表示对比、对立或直接相反的状语从句，语气较强，通常位于句中，多用逗号隔开，也可置于句首。另外，while也引导表示对比或相反情况的状语从句，相当于whereas，两者通常可以换用，但不如whereas正式，语气也不如whereas强。while引导的从句与主句之间通常也用逗号隔开，但也可不用。
