妙词佳句，活学活用
1. Do
将do在此提出，同学们可能会笑，如此简单的do怎么还要拿出来说一说呢？先看下面这个例子：You do the door, and I do the window. 这句话如果在搞卫生、大扫除时说，那就可以理解为“你擦门，我擦窗户”，但是如果用在夜半行窃时却又成了“你撬门，我撬窗”。在“do the list”这个短语中，do 则是编排名单的意思。看来这个do并不是这么简单。
do在英语里有万能词之称，几乎可以和任何词搭配，并且在不同的情况下、不同的搭配中可以有不同的含义。再来看以下两个例子来体会一下do的其它含义。
A. You're tired. I'll do the dishes afterwards.
你累了，吃完饭我来洗碗吧。
B. I don't do drugs.
我不吸毒。
C. John does seafood 4 dishes very well.
约翰的海鲜菜肴烧得很好。
2. Laughing stock
这个就是汉语中的“笑柄”了。看来，英汉两种语言还是有很多相通之处啊！
3. Deserve
deserve 是用得相当多的单词之一，表示“应得到”、“值得”、也指“配得上”、“配得起”。
A. Good work deserves 5 good pay.
好的工作就应该得到好的报酬。
B. You deserve all these things.
你应该得到所有这些。
C. He certainly deserves to be sent to prison.
他活该送进监狱。
D. I want to wish you all the luck and happiness you deserve.
