JAKE: We have to pick up Conrad before the party.
CHARLIE: Alright, no problem.
JAKE: We're supposed to meet him at Cal's Bar at 10:00,but he said he might be a little late. So maybe we'll have a drink there.
CHARLIE: Wait a minute. Cal's bar?
JAKE: Yes.
CHARLIE: That's a gay 1 bar.
JAKE: Yes, it is. Conrad is gay. Didn't you know?
CHARLIE: I thought he was maybe gay, but I wasn't sure.Anyhow, you don't expect me to go into a gay bar, do you?
JAKE: Why not? We're supposed to meet him there.
CHARLIE: Why doesn't he meet us outside?
JAKE: Why should he do that? It isn't illegal 2 for us to go in.
CHARLIE: Yeah, but who wants to go in?I'm not gay, you know. Why should I go in a gay bar?
JAKE: You sound like you're afraid.
CHARLIE: I just wouldn't be comfortable.
JAKE: You've never been in a gay bar before?
CHARLIE: No, never.
JAKE: But it's just a bar. There's no danger.You shouldn't be so homophobic.
CHARLIE: Well...
JAKE: Listen. If you refuse to go in, Conrad will be offended 3.You don't hate gay people, do you?
CHARLIE: No, I don't. But I never went into a gay bar before.
