1. Officials with BP say the blown-out well in the Gulf 1 of Mexico could be permanently 2 sealed this week. Engineers plan to intersect the damaged well with a relief well, possibly in days if not weeks. BP also announced it already has spent more than six billion dollars as a result of the spill.
2. Police are now scouring 3 the back roads around Yellowstone National Park, searching for two men who escaped from a private Arizona prison. Authorities have also advised the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, saying the two may try to cross into Canada.
3. Former Mexican President Vicente Fox says the way to end the brutal 4 drug war going on in his country is to legalize drugs. Current President Felipe Calderon has agreed to open discussions about legalizing drugs. He stressed he remains 5 opposed to the idea.
4. Family members say actress Patricia Neal has passed away at the age of 84. Neal had lung cancer. She starred in a number of productions, winning an Oscar and then being nominated for another, less than two years after she suffered a series of strokes in 1965.
