1. Today marks the 100th day since the start of the oil spill in the Gulf 1 of Mexico. Eleven people died in the explosion on the deep water horizons some 40 miles off the Louisiana Coast. That explosion and collapse 2 of the rig set off the worst oil spill in US history.
2. Officials are saying that all 152 people on board a plane that crashed near the Pakistani capital are dead. The plane was flying from Karachi to Islamabad and was trying to land during difficult weather.
3. A wild fire in California's Mojave Desert that has destroyed more than 30 homes is now 25% contained. The blaze has charred 3 some 500 acres. About 400 firefighters are working, trying to control the wild fire. Officials say beside to the homes' lost another 150 structures are threatened.
4. The Queen of Soul and a former secretary of state teamed up Tuesday night to raise money for charity. Aretha Franklin and Condoleezza Rice performed songs together in Philadelphia. Their aim was to raise money for children from Detroit to Philadelphia, as well as raise awareness 4 for music and the arts.
