广播学口语:高才生
Hello, everyone! 这里是广播学口语。这里是Andy老师,今天我们要着重讨论一下Tom这个"钻石王老五"。

吒咤商业风云的Tom在学校里时就是一个高才生呢！高才生在英语里是怎么说的呢？ Andy告诉你吧："straight 1 A". straight直的，还有一个意思是连续的意思。那么连续得A的学生当然就是"高才生"了。
前些天考托福和雅思真是很热门,Tom也参加了呢. Did 2 you know that Tom got 3 660 in the TOFEL test?" "That’s no wonder 4 for a straight A"(你知道吗Tom的托福考试考了660分!对一个高才生来说可不奇怪.)
然而Tom并未出国，而全身心投入到了他心爱的事业上,并成绩蜚然。认识他的人都不免惊叹。I just know he is a straight A in English, but I didn’t expect 5 him to be so good in business 6.(我只知道他是英语方面的高才生，但我没有想到他在商业上还是这么的出色。)

然而Tom事业成功，但是始终没有找到一个情投意合的伴侣。他自叹：难道我很差吗？ Andy安慰他说：Don’t sell yourself 7 short, you have a lot to offer 8 a girl. sell卖，sell someone 9 or something short" .可不是廉价出售某人，而是"低估某人或某事物的价值".Don’t sell yourself short, you have a lot to offer a girl.(别低估了你自己,你可以给予女孩子的有很多.)求职时，你也要多长一个心眼，别委曲了自己。You `re selling yourself short ---tell these about all your qualifications(你低估了你自己--将你自己的全部经历都告诉了他们）
