Nick:Hi everybody, this is Nick. Welcome to teaching series "how do you say this in American English."

  Nick:大家好,我是Nick.
  Brad:大家好,我是Brad
Nick:今天我们要讲的东西是在中文中非常常见的一个动词语,叫做"拖延症"。我们大家都知道拖延症什么意思,就是我们会拖拖拖,将事情拖到最后一分钟才去做。我们英文叫做"Procrastination 1"这是一个名词,这个发音还是有点难的,那我们还是请教一下Brad来读一下这个单词.Could you please pronounce this word for us?
Brad:Yeah, it's –pro, like professional, -cras, tin- like the tin, can. –ation.Procrastination
Nick:And then you put them together–procrastination. That's a little hard to pronounce. This is a noun, right?
  Brad:Yeah
Nick:这个是一个名词。还有一个动词形式呢叫做"procrastinate 2",我们一般这个尾音会省略,也不是省略,就是把气流放出来,但是不会把它放出嘴边。是停留在嘴边把它吞回去。就是"procrastinate"。简单来说就是做这个口型。但是我就是不把这个音发出来,不把这个尾音发出来So, like I had an assignment a couple of days ago, and I think it's due next week. I won't do it until the last minute. That's what we called procrastination.
Brad:Exactly. You just wait until the last minute to do something. It's not because, maybe you don't wanna do it, maybe you don't mind doing it earlier, but just because you find distractions 3 for yourself. It's just you don't do it (for different reasons). Keep getting distracted.
Nick:You can always find a lot of excuses, you know, stop you from doing it. Sounds like my life. I usually do that the date right before the due date.
Brad:Yeah, a lot of people do that in here
Nick:I guess you do that as well, right?
  Brad:Haha, sadly.
Nick:So we can say like I can find a lot of ways to procrastinate it.
  Brad:Um, hum.
I can always find a ways to procrastinate it.我总会找到我的这个其他方法去拖延该做的事情。那今天呢就是一个拖延症的说法,希望大家已经学到了一点东西.So, I'll see you guys next time, bye!
  Brad:再见!
