1“biting off more than you can chew 1

Example: “I thought I could finish this report within 2 a month, but I bit off more than I could chew。”

同寝室的居然毫无同情心的说 : you bit off more than you could chew。 you will fail the exam。

2“between a rock and a hard place”

这时他就可以说“between a rock and a hard place。”

EXAMPLE:”I'd like to help you but I am stuck between a rock and a hard place。“

I really want to go out with you guys, but I am stuck between a rock and a hard place。
