Cinderella sat down beside her sisters and was very good to them, giving them some of the fruit and cakes that the prince had brought her. 灰姑娘坐在她的姐姐们身旁，对她们很好，而且把王子拿给她的水果和糕点送了一些给她们。

Just when Cinderella was enjoying herself the most, she heard the clock strike a quarter to twelve. 就在灰姑娘最高兴的时候，她听到了钟敲响了，差一刻就是12点了。
Without saying a word, she hurried away. 于是，她什么都没说就匆匆地离去了。
When she reached home, just at midnight, her coach became a pumpkin 1 again, and her beautiful clothes became the ragged 2 dress she wore every day. 到家的时候，正好是午夜时分，漂亮的马车变回了南瓜，漂亮的裙子变成了她平日穿的破烂裙子。
Quickly she ran into the house, where she found her godmother waiting for her by the fireplace 3. 她快速地跑进屋里，发现她的教母正在壁炉旁等着她。
Cinderella thanked the fairy for sending her to the ball and told her all that had happened. 灰姑娘非常感谢仙女送她参加舞会并把所有发生的事情告诉了她。
The prince asked me to go to the ball tomorrow night, said the girl. "Oh! how I wish that I might go!" 女孩说：“王子让我明天晚上去参加舞会。啊！我多么希望自己能去啊！”
