斯图亚特在打乒乓球时的用处也很大。
The Littles liked Ping-pong, but the balls had away of rolling under chairs, sofas, and radiators,
利特尔一家人喜欢打乒乓球，可是球总会滚到椅子、沙发、暖气炉的下面，
and this meant that the players were forever stooping down and reaching under things.
这时打球的人就总要弯腰钻到这些地方的下面去拣球。
Stuart soon leaed to chase balls, and it was a great sight to see him come out from under a hot radiator, pushing a Ping-pong ball with all his might, the perspiration rolling down his cheeks.
斯图亚特不久就学会了拣球。很多次，你都能看到他热汗淋漓地从暖气炉底下把一个乒乓球用尽全力推出来的样子。
The ball, of course, was almost as high as he was, and he had to throw his whole weight against it in order to keep it rolling.
