【分析】此句用于邀请信的开头，正式并且礼貌地邀请对方做本系的visiting professor“客座教授”。也可以使用 possibility 将句子替换为 I am writing…to inquire the possibility of inviting 1 you to…，或者用 wonder if 句式更加婉转地表达邀请之意，即I wonder if there is any chance for you to... 。
