【分析】多重复合句。该句的特点是多重复合句层层嵌套。主句主干为 This…demonstrates that…，主语 this 指代上文中提到的内容，可译为“此，这一点”。that引导的宾语从句中，不定式to survive in是world的后置定语；a fact underlined…是前面整个宾语从句的同位语,可单独翻译。同位语中，修饰statistics的定语从句 that show…及show后面that引导的宾语从句都应单独翻译成句。
【点拨】1、 alone“光靠这一点”，本句中可译为“足以”。2、demonstrate“表明，证明”。3、underline 在本句中与 fact搭配，可译为“印证”，不可译为“强调，加强”。4、out of “在…里(表比例）”。5、take a loss“亏损”。
【译文】仅此就足以表明,在电视行业生存并不容易，统计数字更印证了这个事实：1989年，在80家欧洲电视网中，多达一半出现了亏损。
