3、I have excluded him because, while his accomplishments 1 may contribute to the solution of moral problems, he has not been charged with task of approaching any but the factual aspects of those problems.
【分析】多重复合句。句子主干为I have excluded him， 句中him指代上句中的the average scientist“普通科学家”，翻译时需明确。because引导原因状语从句，其中又嵌套一个while引导的让步状语从句。句末of approaching…作task的后置定语。整个句子顺译。
【点拨】1、名词短语the solution of moral problems 可以直译，也可译为动宾结构“解决道徳问题”。2、根据上下文 be charged with a task，be charged with 应理解为“承担（任务）”，而不是常见意义“指责，谴责，控告”。3、approach的含义较多，句中其宾语为the factual aspects…，因此可译为“触及”、“研究”。4、固定结构 not…any but相当于only,表示“仅仅”。
【译文】我把普通科学家排除在外，是因为尽管他的成就可能有助于解决道德问题，但他承担的任务只不过是1研究这些向题的事实层面。

【分析】复合句。句子主干为his primary task is not to think about the moral code。 which governs his activity为定语从句修饰the moral code； not…any more than… “正如…不…一样，…也不…”表示两者类似，逗号后面的话是用类比的方式对前半句话进行说明.表示前后都否定。any more than后的句子使用了被动语态，可根据汉语习惯译为主动句，同时增补泛指性的词语如“我们”、“人们”作主语,也可直接译为汉语的无主句。?
