2. Protesters and police clashed again near construction of the Dakota Access oil pipeline 2. Authorities are defending their use of water douse 3 on protesters over the weekend, during a skirmish in below-freezing weather.
3. Pope Francis is stressing mercy in allowing all priests to absolve 4 the faithful of the "Grave Sin" of abortion. In a letter made public on Monday, the Pope said he was extending indefinitely the special permission he granted during the holy year of mercy, which just ended.
4. And a group of musicians played music composed by holocaust 5 victims in the halls of Jerusalem museum. One of the musicians said the music has been played elsewhere in the past, but staging in among the different holocaust displaces, held a special significance.
