The day after the 2016 election, the country is look ahead. Hillary Clinton delivered her concession 1 speech in New York on Wednesday, urging young girls to continue to pursue their dreams. At the White House, president Obama urged unity 2 and respect as he looked to a peaceful transition of power.
Meanwhile, Donald Trump 3's presidential victory set off protests early Wednesday in Berkeley, California. Demonstrators marched to the streets chanting "not my president."
Firefighters controlled a large fire at a complex of abandoned warehouse 4 in Wilmington, Delaware. About 250 firefighters and emergency personnel responded to the 4-alarm blaze.
And the markets ran a upswing after Tuesday's election, moving solidly higher in the mid-day trading on Wal Street. Markets were jittery 5 over the prespect of a Trump White House in recent weeks, but declines in overnight trading quickly reversed.
